There are many people who will be aware that their hearing has deteriorated but will be reluctant to seek help. Perhaps they don't want to acknowledge the problem, are embarrassed by what they see as a weakness, or believe that they can 'get by' without using a hearing aid. Unfortunately they wait years, even decades before getting treatment. There are number of research indicate considerable negative social, psychological, cognitive and health effects of untreated hearing loss. Person with hearing loss can experience difficulty to follow conversation and that may seriously impacts their professional and personal lives, at times leading to isolation and withdrawal.

Hearing aids are very advanced instruments and it should be fitted and programmed correctly for optimal benefit. At our clinic hearing aids are prescribed based on our diagnostic evaluation.

 

Hearing aids are very advanced instruments and it should be fitted and programmed correctly for optimal benefit. At the audiology clinic, all patients undergo a comprehensive diagnostic audiology assessment and based on the test result and diagnosis, if suitable then our patients are advised the right hearing aid. The hearing aids are then programmed to match their unique hearing loss and patient is then put under auditory rehabilitation programme if required. Follow up tests are performed on regular interval to assure optimal programming of the aids.
 
Department of Social and Family Affairs provide grant for hearing aid under the Treatment Benefit Scheme and this include for dependent spouses (condition apply). The grant is available to qualifying non-medical card and medical card holders alike if they obtain hearing aid privately. The qualified person is entitled up to €1000 towards the cost of their hearing aids
